In 2014, the theme of the festival is Elemental. The creators wanted to get back to the essentials of nature and promise some stunning features related to the elements – and they don’t mean the weather! Additionally, there will be aerial events performing in the tree tops.
The event has won a number of highly coveted awards, including Event Management Grand Prix and the Best Cultural Event and a commendation at the Scottish Event Awards in 2011 for Best Large Event.
Autumn in Pitlochry
This season is a truly special time of the year in the town of Pitlochry. The forests are truly beautiful, gleaming with gold and red leaves and the moors equally so, alive with the vibrant purple heather. You can also see rutting stags clashing antlers as they fight for female attention and salmon beginning their long journey upstream where they will spawn. They can be seen leaping upriver at Pitlochry Fishladder and the Hermitage.
As well as the Enchanted Forest, Pitlochry offers the yearly showing of Arsenic and Old Lace. There are also the Pitlochry Highland Games in September, only a week after the Braemar Gathering.
In all, Pitlochry is one of the most picturesque places in all of Scotland.Get in touch with us if you'd like to tell us your stories of Pitlochry's annual festival.
