Autumn Events in Highland Perthshire - 2012

Arsenic and Old Lace, 3 October - 3 November (Pitlochry)

Pitlochry Festival Theatre is to revive one of it’s most popular productions in its long history: the American comic masterpiece, Arsenic And Old Lace.  Immortalised in the 1944 film starring Cary Grant, this production will star a host of familiar PFT faces from the current Summer Season including Dougal Lee, Robin Harvey Edwards, Jacqueline Dutoit and Alan Steele - and some exciting new ones – (pictured here together during a break in rehearsal) this will be your chance to reacquaint yourself with the completely insane Brewster clan as they take to the Pitlochry stage once more in Joseph Kesselring’s hilarious black comedy.  Tickets are available from PFT Box Office on 01796-484626 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting FREE 01796-484626 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or go online to www.PitlochryFestivalTheatre.com 

Treasure Hunt, 5 - 27 October  (Pitlochry)

For the chance to win a great prize, grab a pen and an entry form from any participating outlet and go hunting for the clues in the shops in town. Once completed, post your form in the Big Black Box at Fern Cottage Restaurant - don’t forget to include your contact details! The winner will be notified shortly afterwards.

Ghost Tours, Fri 5, Sat 6, Fri 12, Sat 13, Fri 19, Sat 20, Fri 26, Sat 27 October (Pitlochry)

Suitable for scaredy cats of all ages, the Ghosts are backin town! Creep around Pitlochry’s dark and spooky corners and hear their spine tingling stories of dastardly deeds from the past. Departing from the Clock Tower outside Fishers Hotel every 30 min 6:30 - 8.30pm* Adults: £5, Concessions & Children: £3 Tickets available from the Head Ghost on the night.
*Special Halloween tour on Saturday 27th at 9.00pm

Halloween Fancy Dress Street Parade, 27 October (Pitlochry)

It’s Hallowe’en and Pitlochry is swarming with witches, warlocks, devils and demons. We'd love you to join the fancy dress parade, so be ready to set off from the Visitor Centre car park at 6.00pm in all your finery!  

Children's Halloween Party, 27 October  (Pitlochry)

Fishers Hotel is kindly opening its doors to all the ghouls and gremlins in town.  Every child who has donned a costume for the Street Parade is welcome to come along.  Costume judging starts at 6.15pm with prize-giving, and the party runs from 6.30pm - 7.10pm


Fabulous Firework Display, 27 October (Pitlochry)

Come and be dazzled by the ever-popular firework display, kindly supported by local business, D M Cameron.  Fireworks will be launched in the centre of town from the roof of Fishers Hotel at 7.30pm

Tay Descent, 27 October  (Grandtully)

A canoeing and kayaking event for both touring and racing paddlers.  Info: www.canoescotland.org

Spooks & Sacrifice - Celtic Samhain Festival, 31 October  (Kenmore)

Come dressed in costume and help celebrate Samhain, the ancestor of Halloween.  Bring a carved lantern, join the torch-lit procession through loch-side woods, watch the fire sculptures burn in ceremonial sacrifice and enjoy storytelling, burn incense, fire juggling, souop, apple dookin' and more.  Booking essential.   www.crannog.co.uk
